Privacy Policy

What stays on your device

KDramaGuess saves the following in your browser’s local storage so the game works between visits:

• your progress on today’s puzzles and any archive puzzles you open;
• your per-mode stats and streaks;
• your light or dark theme preference.

This data never leaves your device and is not linked to you. Clearing your browser’s site data deletes it permanently, and we have no copy to restore.

What our server receives

To check a guess, your browser sends our server:

• the drama you picked (or that you skipped or gave up);
• a signed progress token recording how many guesses you have used;
• for archive puzzles, which day you are playing.

None of this is written to a database or tied to an identity. Your IP address is held in memory for up to one minute to rate-limit automated requests, and may appear in our hosting provider’s standard access logs.

Anonymous analytics

To learn which puzzles are too hard and where the game can be better, we collect anonymous usage statistics with two services:

• PostHog (product analytics) records the pages you visit, which buttons you click, and game events such as the mode you played, the dramas you guessed, how many guesses it took and whether you solved it. When you finish a puzzle it also receives a summary of the stats shown in your Stats panel (games played, win rate, average guesses and streaks, per mode and in total). Unexpected errors are reported too.
• Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights count page visits and measure how quickly pages load.

Neither service sets cookies or stores an identifier in your browser, and there is no session recording. Visits are grouped using a short-lived hash that rotates daily, so we cannot recognise you from one day to the next. Both services see your IP address in order to derive a rough location (country or city) and your browser and device type; the IP address itself is not stored in our analytics. This data is never sold or used for advertising.

Cookies and advertising

The site sets no cookies and runs no advertising. Fonts, analytics scripts and drama images are all served through our own domain, so your browser does not contact third-party services directly while you play. If that ever changes, this policy will be updated first and, where the law requires it, you will be asked for consent.

Children

KDramaGuess does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
